1. Chicken Fried Bacon
It is an American dish that was introduced in Texas. It is strips of bacon dredged in batter and deep fried. It is usually an appetizer and goes well with cream gravy or sausage gravy as a dip.
2. Blooming Onion
This dish was popularised in the United States when it appeared on the menu of The Outback Steak house, the dish still remains prominent on their menu. A blooming onion also knows as onion bloom, onion blossom or onion ‘mum consists of one large onion which is cut to resemble a flower; it is then battered and deep fried.
3. Mozzarella Sticks
Although Mozzarella cheese is Italian, mozzarella sticks are not a made in traditional Italian cuisine, rather it is particularly famous in the US. Deep fried prawns are a popular cuisine in Japan as well as Japanese restaurants all over the world. It is a speciality of the city of Nagoya. It consists of prawns dipped in flour, then dipped in beaten egg, finally coated with bread crumbs and deep fried. The head of the prawn is usually removed but if the prawn is fresh enough, it may be cooked and served as whole.
