Generally, fast food is synonymous to unhealthy food. They usually contain high amounts of carbohydrates, added sugar, unhealthy fats and sodium content. They have high calorie content lacking in nutrition. There are several reasons why fast food is called unhealthy.

Fast foods contain junk that are high in calories and unhealthy fats. Too much of its consumption can harm your metabolism, causing indigestion issues. It is more like an addiction. That extra bulk of calories definitely will find its way to cause problems. They might get clogged in your blood vessels, may cause severe gastritis or increase your blood pressure. You might end up having hypertension, strokes or other heart related disorders.

Long term Complications-Junk foods contain saturated fatty acids. These fats are generally derived from plant oils and animals. A cheeseburger, for example has abundant amount of such fat. This might increase the blood cholesterol level leading to cardio vascular diseases.

Other than serious long term heart issues, one might suffer a stroke, cardiac arrest, chronic kidney disease, eye damages and ulcers. Other acute complications may include hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, diabetic ketoacidosis or death.
